CORNISH, Dorothy P., 88, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Dorothy was one of twelve children born in Starkville, Ontario Canada to the late Victor and Leona Farrow. As a young woman, she was a skilled bookkeeper and excelled in retail sales. She was an exceptional homemaker and created a beautiful and loving home. Her greatest pleasure was having the family come together for birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed card games, gardening, reading, bowling, and loved to travel in the United States and abroad. She was a kind and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; always positive, fun-loving, and optimistic. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Alan H. Cornish. Her memory remains celebrated by Sisters; Marion Spilchen and Betty Barnes of Ontario Canada; Children, Dennis (Pat) Cornish, Debbie (Blake) Ferguson, Judy (Mike) Marcum, Gary (Beth) Cornish; Grandchildren, Matt, Emily, Dave, Andrew, Samantha, Kaley, Jenny, Greg and Leah; Great grandchildren, Tabitha, Alyssa, Olivia and Alan, as well as numerous extended family and longtime friends. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:00-2:00pm on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering, OH, with a service to follow. Pastor Ruth Hopkins, Harmony Creek Church, officiating. Burial at David’s Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to Hospice of Dayton for their gentle and compassionate care. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice at 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton OH 45420.
